Hi dear cultists!

We already have the printed Cthulhu art work included with the Idol of Rewards!

This means that shortly we will send the first rewards as we explained in the previous update. Starting next week, some backers will receive an email through Backerkit informing that your reward has been sent. So stay tuned to your email to be able to track your package.  

MORE WOODEN BOXES:

On Tuesday we received a new consignment of wood. Although with small differences in the final design on the lid of the box, we have continued working on the boxes that were pending so as not to extend the delivery date any longer. We have already carved and aged many boxes!  In the previous update we informed you about some problems of wood shortage in recent months with the current supplier. If you didn't read the previous update, we encourage you to do so.  

Today we have all the updated information from our supplier and we will soon contact the backers of the CTHULHU IDOL COMPLETE COLLECTION pledge to show them the new box design for this triple collection limited to 30 units.  

We will be reporting monthly. At the beginning of each month, until all the rewards have been sent, we will inform you of the details of the remaining boxes that we hope to finish throughout this month of December and about the shipments of the other rewards starting with backer number #052

Wooden boxes details and Shipping

Hi dear cultists!

We are finalizing some details of the wooden boxes. We recently wanted to improve the bottom of the wooden boxes with the name of the collection and our logo.

As you may know, all the idols we've launched so far, as well as those to come later, are part of the CTHULHU MYTHOS collection.

We have been doing tests to set the appropriate parameters that we will use for the engraving of the logos.

The images shown above are from the tests we carried out on wood without treatment of any kind. However, the wooden boxes supplied with Cthulhu Idol have a darker color, so this is just to see which parameters are best to get the best result on the idol boxes. 

It seems that in B more depth is reached but at the same time it stains the edges of the wood, whereas in A there is no residue on the edges and the definition is great.

The logos on the boxes is the final stage, so at the end of this all the boxes that we currently have will be ready.

These boxes will be shipped at the end of November or as soon as possible.

PRODUCTION: WOODEN BOXES

RAW MATERIAL SHORTAGE

As some of you may know there is a shortage of raw material in many sectors, wood has been no exception.

Before launching the project, we negotiated with a wood supplier to make sure we could have the hundreds of boards and sheets that we need to make the boxes and it was not a problem. The reservation was made, after the end of the campaign the agreed price was paid and the supplier began to send us the material in small waves.

Since August we have not received the rest of the materials to make the boxes. After several e-mails, on October 21, he explained to us the shortage of raw materials that has been happening for months, in our case it affects us for the wooden sheets that we use for the upper and lower part of the boxes. The supplier did not yet know when the wood would be available again to send us the pending materials.

He offered us to work with other types of wood, but the finish would not be the same and the quality would not either, since the boxes we made for the campaign are made of pine, and the boxes that we have made so far are also pine.

Pine is the wood that best fits the work we have to do for the engravings on the boxes.

In this way, at that time we were waiting for the supplier to notify us when they had news about the availability of these pine wood sheets.

Last week we received another email where he gave us good news. In December he will send us the wood, although it will not be all that was pending, it will be almost all that is missing to be able to continue working on the boxes.

This situation has completely thrown our agenda out of balance and the work rates have not been the same. In the meantime we have been working on the idols, so that part is settled.

SHIPMENT FORECAST

As we mentioned before, we have finished some wooden boxes and we only need to do the engraving of the base.

As soon as we finish with this process and pack the idols in their boxes, we will begin to send the rewards in order according to the backer number, from #001 to #052.

The next update will be to inform you about the shipment of the rewards listed above, as well as to inform you about the progress of the remaining wooden boxes.

Progress and New Dagon Idol

Hi dear cultists,

From Mystical we want to thank you for helping us make Cthulhu Mythos a reality. Each box that we assemble and carve, each idol that we create for you, we do it with great love and enthusiasm.

PRODUCTION: WOODEN BOXES

We will make the boxes in waves, it seems to be the best way to work with our distributor since some basic materials of the industry are suffering from shortages worldwide.

We currently have 43 boxes in the workshop. Next week we will start carving and aging.

PRODUCTION: CTHULHU IDOL

Before making the production molds, we did the last tests with the master molds to make sure everything was fine. We started with the gold version, the result was excellent.

We have also applied the aging and oxidizing technique for "old gold" and the result is very good. We had to achieve a homogeneous effect and we have achieved it.

ORGANIZING WORK TASKS

Next week we are going to organize our work schedule so that work is more fluid. 

As you know, right now we are in the final stretch of a Kickstarter campaign "Cthulhu Mythos: Dagon Idol & Cosmic Dice", from August 2 to 5, we will be promoting the project on the networks since 5 is the last day of the campaign.

We have organized our schedules to be able to correctly manage the campaign during those days and also continue working in our workshop.

With the heat that it is in our country this August we hope that our sanity remains intact and we do not go to the R'lyeh kingdom sooner than expected.
